Questions from Former or Long Time "New" Home Owners

I'm going away for the weekend and need reasons to NOT pack! :) I hate packing. So I decided to ask a question for those of you who have either owned a Ryan home before or have owned a "new" home before, what's your long term experience with it? Looking back, what would you have done differently? How did the neigborhood end up developing around you?? Just wondering and would love to hear your insight.

  1. Our first house we built a Ryan Home (Innsbruck which no longer exists). We lived there for 4 years before we had to move out of state. All in all I loved it! I know that is not exactly long term, but we did not have any issues with the house construction or quality. I think the fact that we are now building with them again and building a house that we hope to stay in until our kids are grown speaks volumes. The first time around we did not upgrade hardly anything because of budget constraints but we did get the morning room and gourmet island - I insisted on those and am so glad we had them. My big regrets were in landscaping. I wanted to do it myself because I enjoy it but I realized it's much more complicated and I didn't enjoy it so much by the third time I moved stuff around...so I'll be getting help this time! The neighborhood came together quite nicely and was full of young families. I think people made more of an effort to get to know each other because we were all new (and because the kids play on the front sidewalks until your grass comes in!)
