Windows!

They've added windows! There was no one working today so we walked as close as we felt comfortable. You can see our stairs in one of the pics!

Wrapping the Building

We went back this past Sunday to take a look and it seems like they are wrapping the building. We figured it was to protect the inside from the elements but now sure. Aww, I guess we won't be able to see from the inside until we can actually go inside.

We've also been debating over selling ALL of our furniture before moving. We figured it would be really neat to start new all the way! And besides, who wants to move all of that stuff anyway!!?! We'll see though...still weighing the pros and cons. On the one hand, we won't have any furniture other than the bed LOL...but on the other, it's sooooo tempting just to start all over again new and fresh! Either way, we will be getting rid of a lot of stuff! We really need to get on the ball because times is TICKING!!!

Well, enjoy the pics!

ROOF!!!! There it is!!! Chakalaka...Chakalaka......

Stopped by today and the construction workers were activel putting on the roof. It was a BEAUTIFUL day today and I can really say that I love the neighborhood we'll be living in! The parts of the building were you could see concrete are no longer visible. They are now covered with wood.

Also got a call from NVR letting us know that our 90 day window is approaching. I really just can't believe it and am soooo ready to move! Check out the pics!

House Hunters Addiction

Thought I'd comment on my recent HGTV addiction, House Hunters! I'm a big fan of the show (not so much of the International version..) I gotta say I love how some of these couples think because it cracks me up!!! Someone will see a DREAM home and they turn it down because of the bathroom fixtures..LOL...it's amazing seeing the thought process of some of these people. I always find it rather ironic that many of these couples choose the house 'outside' of their price range. I wonder how this show works really...and how they don't get out bidded by other buyers....
I feel the most sorry for the buyers who are under a time crunch and have, like, 2 weeks to buy..I'm so glad we decided to NOT put ourselves through that kind of pressure!!! As first time homebuyers, I think it would have been waaaay too much pressure!
My other fave is Holmes Inspection. I ask this everytime I watch.."You IDIOT!! Why didn't you get your home inspected before you bought!!!!" I also wonder who really pays for all of those renovations..insurance maybe? I dunno. Nonetheless, I'm loving the channel..

On another note, I noticed an ANTIQUE STORE right down the street from where we will be living once the new house is built. CAN'T WAIT to go inside and see what's cooking...There's also a seafood place, pizza place, and 7Eleven less that 5 miles away..LOL I am NEVER leaving my new house.... LMAO...I crack myself up!

No Longer A Figment of Our Imagination....

Folks, our wonderful little condo is no longer a figment of our imagination, it now really exists!!!!! They've put in the framework for our level and we also have what will be the balcony (which I will probably never go on because I'm a big chicken!)!!! They also added a lamp post by our building. I'm starting to wonder when the pre-dry wall meeting will be because things are moving so incredibly fast. Speaking of walls, I've been pondering paint colors. I think I'll really enjoy this part once we move in. For those who have already settled into their new home, how long did you wait to paint? I've been told you should wait at least 3 months for the structure to settle. I know one person who painted as soon as she moved in and had no problems whatsoever. Thoughts?
I've also been eying the interest rates and am really pleased that they haven't gone up too much since we were originally approved in October. I do have to say that I'm really happy that we decided to buy our first home now because these interest rates are a dream come true! I really need to get on the ball and find an inspector to bring in! Take a look at the pics....
