Spoke to our PM about the columns and he said the small stapel like holes will be filled, sanded, and painted. I really hope this will actually happen because the holes are tiny, and I as a homeowner definately notice them! I hope a contractor will as welL!
It's going to be difficult this week stopping by again, but hopefully we'll make it out there. The multiple trips sneakign in have been very helpful!!!!!
Our PM mentioned that the sidewalk and landscaping has begun, plumbing and electric will be completed, and our toilets and faucets will be installed this week. It's hard to tell that they are really almost done because when we go, it seems like they have A LOT to do! I'm counting on them to get it all done and I have a feelign all will be ok!
My advice to those in the intial stages of building: WHEN YOU CAN JUST WALK IN (EVEN WHEN PEOPLE ARE WORKING INSIDE), DO IT!!!
**JUST DON'T GET HURT AND BE CAREFUL! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL You got it!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they'll find all the wholes. This is what they are paid to do, you know? If they miss it, you always have your pre-settlement and your 30 days out to fix it. =)
Before you know it, you will be all settled in, in home sweet home!
Thanks Noey!!! I keep readin all of these horror stories of stuff being finding after settlement and never getting fixed! It's driving me a little bonkers LOL but it's a good kind of bonkers! :)
ReplyDeleteThats right you still have your pre-settlement stuff so when you go be sure to look at every little thing that way they will fix it before you move in. Only 21 more days. It will go by sooo fast!
ReplyDeleteWhile it's great you are getting chances to see things, but it's not great that you are sneaking in. You should be able to get your PM to take you in or your sales rep or go in while workers are there. If you get hurt you are in big trouble...Stephanie is absolutely right...you will definitely find stuff during pre-settlement that is not quite right and needs to be fixed before closing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the concern BD! The reason we go in without our PM is because when we are free, our PM is unavailable. We usually go in on the weekends. We are very careful not to get hurt and have plenty common sense so if somethien seems dangerous or unsafe, we won't do it! :) Knowing how my mind works, I will not catch every little thing during a 1-2 hour final walkthrough. I prefer to go in when I can and do my own inspection! So far, so good! Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI certainly do agree with you regarding catching everything at your final walk thru. I too will be making frequent walk thru trips. You should be able to get a key at the sales office or get your sales rep to take you in...even on the weekends. We actually just had our sales rep take us into our future neighbor's house to look at the fireplace stone. Shortly after getting back to the office our future neighbors came in to get the key to go see something. It never seems to be a problem.
ReplyDeleteOh wow I didnt' even know that was an option! Well we'll have to look into that next time! Thanks BD!!!! No more Mission Impossible I guess LOL...
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be your only option at times. You know you're close when you need assistance from Ryan to get in your house.
